Onyx Builds a Strong Moat in Medical AI with Pain-Point Solutions and Sustainability

Onyx Healthcare has recently achieved back-to-back recognition at the national level.

President John Chuang received the 2025 Model of Entrepreneurs Award, recognized as a role-model entrepreneur who builds a business moat by solving real pain points. At the same time, Onyx won two major honors at the 2025 TCSA Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards: the Corporate Sustainability Performance – Taiwan’s Excellent Sustainable Companies Award and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting – Gold Award.

These recognitions reflect a comprehensive upgrade—from business model to sustainability capabilities—and prove that Onyx has successfully earned the “green ticket” into European and U.S. supply chains.

From Hardware Manufacturing to Pain-Point Solving: A Model Entrepreneur Who Refused to Follow the Red Ocean

Award judges highlighted that Frank Chuang has led Onyx down a high-value path rarely seen in Taiwan’s tech industry:
At a time when many chased the boom in consumer electronics, he deliberately avoided the red ocean and chose to enter the medical-grade market, with long certification cycles and high barriers. By focusing on own-brand products and highly customized solutions, Onyx has built a clear differentiation advantage.

Amid the global AI boom, he has consistently emphasized:

“AI specs can be copied. What can’t be copied is a deep understanding of clinical workflows.”

Onyx does not just sell hardware. By integrating ESG, cybersecurity, and system reliability into its solutions, the company helps leading hospitals in Europe and the U.S. address real clinical pain points.
In doing so, Onyx has built very high switching costs in the international market—creating a long-term moat that is difficult for price wars to break through.

Turning Sustainability into Business: TCSA Double Awards and the “Green Ticket” to Europe and the U.S.

With the EU’s CBAM and increasingly strict supply chain standards from global medical brands,
ESG has shifted from a “nice-to-have” bonus to an essential baseline.

At the 2025 TCSA, Onyx received:
🏆 Corporate Sustainability Performance – Taiwan’s Excellent Sustainable Companies Award
🏆 Corporate Sustainability Reporting – Gold Award

The judging committee recognized Onyx for:

Governance transparency and risk management
Strengthening board functions and enhancing risk control mechanisms.
Green medical computing
Developing low-power, high-efficiency medical AI platforms, while promoting internal digital transformation to reduce emissions.
Sustainable supply chain management
Managing everything from carbon footprint to labor rights in alignment with the audit standards of international medical brands.
These two TCSA awards send a clear signal to global customers and investors:
Onyx is not only a fast-growing medical AI company, but also a sustainable enterprise with controllable risk and long-term partnership value.

Message to Our Partners

For our global partners and customers, these two national-level recognitions mean that you are working with:

A healthcare AI partner that does more than talk specs, and creates value by solving real pain points;
A supplier that has passed stringent international sustainability and governance standards, and is ready for the era of net-zero targets and green procurement.

Onyx will continue to uphold medical-grade trust, solid governance, and sustainable competitiveness, walking the extra mile with you on the journey toward smart healthcare and AI transformation.
